Peter Piper, picked a peck.    We picked at least a bushel.

We ate some fresh, we cooked the rest,    but still had more than usual.

We roasted up, a batch to can,    we stewed them with ‘tomators’.

We froze a tray, but the rest the day,     we filled the dehydrator.

We sliced them thin, and minced them fine,    we left some kind of chunky.

We made some dip, to top a chip.     That turned out somewhat ‘funky’.

We pickled up, a bunch in jars,      the kitchen got quite smelly !

We had to say,  is there another way,       to get them in our belly ?

We made some salsa, and pepper jam,     and stored some in the crisper.

Made Spanish Rice, that tasted nice,      and baked some ‘stuffed’ for dinner.

We cooked  fajitas,  rellenos’ and poppers.      We stir-fried some with chicken.

To say the least,  our Pepper Feast,       was down-right ‘finger-licken’.

The bounty of peppers, was stored up with pride,       but alas, some sad news comes.

The job was near done,  when the wife sliced her thumb.       And we both need the bottle of Tums ???
